After talking to a couple dealers, and poking around online, these engines were not very reliable, they liked throwing rods and breaking cranks, as well as being grossly underpowered. The one I got, happened to be a one year only 2 cylinder gas continental engine. Machine is about 3500lbs, and has a 50% rated capacity at 1250lbs. My kubota wouldn't lift it high enough to get the boom locks out. simple one pump two drive motor setup with chains to run the rear wheels.Įnded up taking it into work to use the forklifts to raise the boom to be able to work on it. so I shelled out 1K for it and drug it home. it only had 2000 hours on the machine, and for the age was in pretty decent shape. Didn't want a foot bucket control machine, but for my cheap ass "budget" I ran across this L454 New Holland with a hole in the block. My firewood crates are probably 900-1100lbs.Īnyways, didn't want a newer high hour machine with tons of electrical issues, so I looked. My little kubota BX is an ok lawn mower, but it doesn't pick up much more than 500 pounds. ![]() I've been wanting a skid steer for the longest time for off road fork lift duties, gravel drive building and maintenance, as well as some dirt work. ![]() I haven't posted much lately with traveling so much for work.
